Hey Prospectors Web,
I am heading to Haida Gwaii to do a geochemical/mapping program and wanted to ask around for good rock hounding spots if anyone has any recommendations.
I have a few private claims to visit but open to suggestions.
Or even things to see!
Cheers.
Be safe and heavy pans everyone

Hey Cuporphyrydaddy !!
Hope you have a great trip !! I dont know that area very well , hopefully someone in the group knows more about it.
I'll ask around and keep ya posted...
I do know , Haida Gwaii is renowned for its rich mineral collection, particularly agates. The island's beaches, especially Agate Beach, are known for their abundance of these unique crystals. Agates are sourced from the Eocene-aged Masset Formation, which is prevalent throughout northern Graham Island. These crystals are eroded from volcanic rocks by waves and accumulate on the beaches, making them a popular find for rock enthusiasts. The agates on Haida Gwaii range from translucent to opaque and can be found in various colors, including clear white, yellowish-amber, greens, and red. To find agates, visitors are advised to explore the beaches east of Masset and north of Tlell, where the chances of finding these beautiful stones are high
I know Mr herb Hyder has some good spots there for crystals but I dont know where !!
Be safe and have fun !!!
