What is everyone's favorite last step to clean gold ? With so many options out there, and some of them rather slow, how do you guys like doing your final cleaning ( pan, blue bowl, miller table, shaker table etc) and why do you like that method ?

I have so far only really been playing to just see how they work but will need to spend more time playing with bowl and miller table. But I did see an older video from Dan Hurd about a home brew pulse bed jig, mainly because it would be cool to watch it do its thing but have not been able to find much information about it.

Jigs are really interesting, if I can ever get caught up highbanker building inventory I would like to experiment with them as well. They seem like they might not only be faster but easier to use. If they work and I can come up with an affordable design........... In the meantime take a look at these small jigs. https://rgmak.com/shop/?variation_id=3061671

When I did more placer work I used to love the goldcube ...

I also classified my material to all individual sizes , 100mesh, 80, 50 etc and ran it individually and found I got the highest % of gold in the clean up compared to running it all at the max the goldcube can handle ( 1/4 mesh I think) ...

We also had one level replaced with vortex matting and found that useful as well

Happy Propecting !

Classification is key, I wonder how many people do it?

I wash my carpets (36" sluice 8ft long off my shaker deck) through a 1/2" classifier then put everything through a vortex sluice with a Letrap behind it. The Letrap will get 10-12 pieces that carry over past the Vortex but as a percentage its very low.

If the volume of concentrates is low, then simple panning of plus 30 mesh and minus 30 mesh. If high, magnet sweeps + cleanup sluice +/- miller table and multiple runs, then tapping gold to the front lip, sucking it up with a snuffer bottle, rinse and repeat until back panning reveals clean gold.
