Placer + hard rock together for better information.
I love doing research, reading old reports, compiling data, and examining maps to gain insights. As a geology field tech (geophysics, geochem) and QGIS specialist, I combine insights from the field with maps and data to tell stories that reveal interesting opportunities.
As a GIS tech for a mine agent in BC, I have done everything from SOW's and NOW's to OLTC's and ARIS reports-- from research and data gathering to map creation, report writing and beyond.
As a hobbyist placer and hard rock prospector, I love panning everyting from hard rock soil samples (loaming) to placer rivers and creeks, and trying to determine how the placer relates to hard rock gold showings in the area.
In BC, multiple episodes of uplift and erosion plus volcanism, faulting and shearing complicate things greatly, but also keep things interesting!
I also enjoy sharing my knowledge with beginners whenever possible : )
