So far Ive done some work for Apex geoscience up north for a week , just shy of a week in beaverdale for Grizzly Discoveries and then off to the southern part of BC for Quantum Critical Minerals coming up soon ... Always a bit of placer work as well but it's been pretty chill this season so far... How you guys all doing? Anyone hit the motherload :) Hope you all are having a great season !!

Thanks to all who been participating and all who have joined so far !!!!... I know it's a little slow as we are just getting started..
Plz feel free to invite all your fellow miners and prospectors , we'd love to have them ...
Slowly but surely the site is growing and we have an update coming by the end of the month :)

Had a chance to get out on the weekend and put in some serious up and down bushwhacking leg work,I ended up locating two nice fault's to add to my map so I would say it was worth the effort.

Oh Nice @timothydiggings !! do also you use imapbc or qgis to help locate some of the fault on your ground ( using the layers they provide) as well ?
Hope you have an epic season

I use a mix of imapbc and macrostrat, imap and its layers are awesome, macro is bare bones but it comes in handy out in the field with its 3d satellite view.I haven’t tried qgis yet I will definitely check it out, thanks for the tip Sebo.

Anytime ..!!!
We actually have a QGIS master on this page, @arc_geo , he has a post futher down in the forum about Qgis.
It takes a bit to learn to download the bc data catalogue layers ( it did for me anyhow , lol ) and get to know the site and all it's possibilities , but once you get it all going it blows everything else away ...!!!
If ya have any question , as him/comment in that thread and he'll know it .. he teaches courses on it !!!

@timothydiggins: thank you for introducting me to Macrostrat, just started using it after seeing you mention it here. I am enjoying it so far for exploring bedrock geology and faults! It's much better than my own custom QGIS map for visualizing this data. Cheers! -Dan

I did 2 weeks of placer reverse circulation drilling in the Klondike 3 hours east of Dawson City, followed by a week of sluicing and panning those samples. I've never seen so many 5 gallon buckets stacked on a large trailer before.
Also got to do some placer claim post blazing and tagging, gold rush style! It's still done the old-fashioned way where one has to blaze a post from a 4-5 inch diameter tree, flatten the sides and hammer on a metal claim post tag.
That's the only field work I've done this year, but it's only part-time as I have other non-mining stuff on the go as well.

Thats super exciting !!
I cant wait to get up to the yukon one day and check it out ...
Stoked you got to do some old school blazing and tagging.... if it was like that in bc still we would have no "couch miners/stakers" and there would be so much more ground for the "real" miners
Hope the rest of the season goes well bro !!!

Been back to back work programs and truck break downs, but me and the dog are having fun while we can.
